Circle Garden

By the year 2000 there were few burials in Mount Pleasant Cemetery as the plot owners had long since left Newark and their descendants had little or no connection to the city.  The board wanted the cemetery to renew its mission of providing a peaceful burial ground. The board then decided to open a space convenient to the front entrance gates. This space was named “The Circle Garden”.  Landscaping for the Circle Garden is scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2023, with Mount Pleasant Cemetery, once more, open for business.
